Understand the requirements for opening a store
Company Qualifications: A business license from Mainland China or Hong Kong is required. For certain regions, such as the UK site, there may be further requirements regarding the company's size and operational status.
E-commerce experience: Having mainstream cross-border e-commerce experience in Europe and America, such as owning stores or independent sites on platforms like Amazon, eBay, etc., with a comprehensive store rating DSR recommended to be greater than 4.5 or 95%. If it is a Shopify independent site, relevant store backend screenshots and other proof materials are also required.
TikTok account requirements: Have a TikTok account, for example, a British small shop requires the account to be based in the UK, the account holder must be at least 18 years old, and have posted at least 5 short video contents with a total of 100 likes, and the account must have no violations.
Other requirements: Depending on the different regional sites, you may need to provide a VAT number (such as the UK), a Chinese shipping warehouse address, a UK local return warehouse address (if required), Payoneer account information, etc.
Select store location: Currently, TikTok Shops have opened sites in multiple countries and regions including the United Kingdom, the United States, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore. You need to choose the appropriate store location based on your business plan and target market. It is important to note that market characteristics, consumer habits, policies, and regulations may vary in different regions, so thorough market research and preparation are necessary.
2. Register a TikTok business account
Select entry method: After successful registration, start registering your store. There are two ways to enter: regular entry and invitation code entry. If you have a dedicated account manager or have obtained an official invitation code, you can choose invitation code entry, which allows you to enjoy the benefits of convenient entry and quick store opening; if you do not have an invitation code, choose regular entry.
3. Fill in the store information.
Basic Information: Fill in the company and legal person information as required, including uploading the company's business license, filling in the company registration information, and uploading photos of the front and back of the legal person's ID card, ensuring that the information is true, accurate, clear, and consistent with the registered company entity.
Store name and category: When selecting a store name, be sure to avoid internationally renowned brands to avoid violations and clearance. It is recommended to use an English name for the store name, and it should be unique across the entire network. Then select the main product category to ensure that the products sold comply with the selected category requirements.
Warehouse Information: If the seller is an entity from Mainland China or Hong Kong, it is recommended to fill in 1-2 warehouse addresses, and additional addresses can also be added or modified in the store management backend.
Submit for Review: After filling in all the information, carefully check to ensure accuracy, and then submit the application. The platform will review the information you submitted, and the review process generally takes 3-5 working days.
After the review is approved, set up the store: If the review is approved, congratulations on successfully opening a TikTok store. Next, you need to bind your TikTok account (if you haven't done so before) in order to promote and sell products. At the same time, you can start uploading product information, setting prices, inventory, etc., and decorate and plan the operation of the store.
